Digital decay is always in motion, even when it feels static. Through prolonged time, repeated interaction, and accumulated use, the system gradually erodes, revealing strain, fragmentation, and fatigue that emerge more clearly than any direct message.

Series 1 —Exploring how time can affect objects that do not physically corrode. Through progressive stages of digital oxidation, we examine how rust and erosion gradually reshape the image of the Earth.

02

Rust Decay Study is an interactive system where zooming functions as a measure of time. Users examine four subjects, each positioned within a controlled digital environment. As they zoom and navigate, progressive layers of corrosion appear, gradually replacing the original image. The process unfolds in stages and cannot be reversed. The project examines how time can be translated into visual transformation within a digital structure.

Visualizing time through digital corrosion.

this interactive system responds to presenceשמג movement. Every interaction leaves a trace particles shift, textures fracture, and the surface slowly erodes. The rust accumulates, mutates, and remembers. Through this process, the project explores how digital environments can behave like physical materials unstable, reactive, and shaped by human presence.

How does seeing ourselves from the outside, through delay and manipulation, shift our self image?

When time accumulates within digital systems, do they continue to operate as intended — or does duration itself begin to reshape and erode them?
